St. Peter’s Health Partners Celebrates National Nurse Practitioner Week

In celebration of National Nurse Practitioner Week, St. Peter’s Health Partners would like to offer a sincere “Thank You!” to the many nurse practitioners who are valued colleagues in our system.

In celebration of National Nurse Practitioner Week, St. Peter’s Health Partners would like to offer a sincere “Thank You!” to the many nurse practitioners (NPs) who are valued colleagues in our system.

NPs play a critical role in the high-quality, compassionate, people-centered care provided by St. Peter’s Health Partners every day. They assess patients, order and interpret diagnostic tests, make diagnoses, treat acute and chronic conditions, and initiate and manage treatment plans – including prescribing medications.

All NPs must complete a master’s or doctoral degree program, and have advanced clinical training beyond their initial professional registered nurse preparation. They also undergo rigorous national certification.

According to the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, NPs have been providing primary, acute, and specialty health care to patients of all ages and walks of life for nearly half a century. Today, there are more than 222,000 licensed NPs across the United States.

National Nurse Practitioner Week is held annually to celebrate the profession and its role in health care delivery.

Thank you again to all of the outstanding and talented NPs throughout our system for all that you do, every day!
