St. Peter’s Health Partners (SPHP) will implement a new electronic health record (EHR) platform, to provide a better care experience for the people we serve, while unifying our system with faster and simpler patient records.

The new EHR, Epic, is expected to go live across SPHP in June 2020. The implementation timeline was announced August 7 in a memo from SPHP President and CEO James K. Reed, M.D., Trinity Health President and COO Mike Slubowski, and others.

“Epic will enable a better care experience for the people we serve across our Ministry, providing a single, comprehensive health record with seamless access to clinical and billing information,” Dr. Reed, Slubowski, and others wrote in the memo. “It will also improve the experience for our physicians and clinicians through integrated information to improve patient care and support seamless handoffs.”

Trinity Health is implementing Epic at all of its regional health ministries, in multiple waves. SPHP comprises the entire second wave of the implementation plan.

SPHP will communicate with colleagues over the next several months as plans develop and our system begins to prepare for the implementation of Epic. Education and training opportunities will be available for colleagues in the months leading up to the expected June 2020 go-live date.
