Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital Hosts Free Art Exhibition

Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital will host “Riff on a Riff,” an exhibition featuring the works of area artists Gail Nadeau and Chris O’Connor, on display through Monday, Aug. 1, at 1270 Belmont Ave., Schenectady. An artist reception will be held Wednesday, May 25, 4 – 6 p.m., at the hospital dining room.

The works – which highlight the collaboration between a photographer, a fiber artist, and forgotten urban muralists – express who the individuals are as artists.

Nadeau currently leads Sunnyview’s Studio Arts Program which offers classes to members of the community who experience challenges attending traditional art classes due to difficulties in communication, cognitive, or physical abilities. O’Connor, a skilled artist and dedicated volunteer, helps class participants focus on education of material use, art techniques, and possible adaptations so that each individual can express their own artistic interpretation.
