The Times Union published a story about “Tuesday at Rumors,” a program started by Rumors Salon and Spa in Latham, which generously and compassionately provides free services the first Tuesday of every month to women who are patients of the St. Peter’s Hospital Cancer Care Center.

From the story:

Anne Lawton, a nurse and the community liaison for St Peter’s Hospital Cancer Care Center, said she was thrilled when [Rumors co-owners] Aviza and Norgrove contacted her with their plan. Both sides consulted with oncologists and did research before giving the project the green light. Not every patient can receive services, because of complications brought about by treatment. They must have doctor’s notes to participate in the program.

“Our patients go through a lot, and it’s nice to have something done for them for free to make them feel special, glamorous, and, as they say at Rumors, royally beautiful,” Lawton said.
