Times Union: St. Peter’s, Aetna reach agreement to keep insurer in-network

The Times Union reported on St. Peter’s Health Partners reaching a multiyear agreement with Aetna to keep the health insurance in-network for patients.

From the story:

“We are thankful for everyone’s patience and support as we worked together to reach a fair agreement,” St. Peter’s said in a statement Tuesday evening.

The health system had previously reached out to patients in mid-December to let them know that the previous agreement between St. Peter’s and Aetna, which is a CVS Health company, was set to expire at the end of 2024.

St. Peter’s Health Partners, which is owned nationally by Trinity Health and operates St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany and Samaritan Hospital in Troy, had been negotiating with Aetna for six months to reach a new contract. Other media outlets nationwide posted that other hospitals under Trinity Health had also worked out agreements with Aetna.
