Each year, millions of Americans develop hernias — weaknesses or tears in the abdominal wall. Approximately 500,000 ventral hernias repairs are performed annually in the United States. If you have a hernia, or think that you may have a hernia, you are not alone.
A hernia cannot heal on its own. Early surgical intervention for symptomatic hernias can help relieve discomfort and reduce the risk of emergency complications.
To help educate the Capital Region community about hernias, St. Peter’s Health Partners will hold a seminar titled “Abdominal Wall Hernias – What Patients Need to Know.”
Free and open to the public, the program will take place:
Tuesday, June 5
6 to 7:30 p.m.
Mercy Auditorium – St. Peter’s Hospital campus
310 S. Manning Blvd. (Across the street from the hospital)
The surgeons will discuss types of hernias, their signs and symptoms, as well as treatment options.
Space is limited and registration is required. Please call 518-525-2227 to reserve a seat.
