Register Star: St. Peter’s Opens OB-GYN Facility in Valatie

The Register Star newspaper featured an article on the opening of St. Peter’s OB/GYN – Valatie. The practice, located at 1301 River St., Suite 202 in Valatie, opened in August and is a satellite of St. Peter’s OB/GYN – Slingerlands.

Sue Koller, NP, a nurse practitioner, discussed how the new site helps to fill a void in Columbia County.

St. Peter’s Health Partners has offices in Slingerlands and Albany. Sue Koller, a nurse practitioner at the new facility, said they had noticed a number of patients who previously had to travel to Albany or Slingerlands for OB-GYN treatment.

“I’m so grateful to share that we’ve had a really wonderful reaction from the patients who we’ve seen thus far,” Koller said. “The accessibility of it, the closer commute, because some people were traveling an hour or hour-and-a-half to the Slingerlands office. It’s a nice, small office. They can really feel that intimate setting and that one-on-one attention that usually you don’t see in a larger office setting.”

With the COVID spread, many people do not want to have to travel out of their communities, so the timing of the opening worked out well, Koller said.
