St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates is pleased to welcome Imran Akhtar, DO, to its newest practice, St. Peter’s Orthopedics.
Dr. Akhtar is an experienced orthopedic surgeon specializing in diseases and conditions of the hip and knee. He previously worked as an orthopedic surgeon at OrthoNY in Albany.
Dr. Akhtar received his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. He completed a residency at Oklahoma State University Medical Center and a fellowship in joint replacement and adult reconstruction at Desert Orthopedic Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. He received a bachelor’s degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
St. Peter’s Orthopedics, a new practice within St. Peter’s Health Partner’s Medical Associates, offers comprehensive orthopedic care with a focus on personalized treatment, advanced surgical techniques, and improved recovery times. The team, led by Dr. Akhtar, Hamza Murtaza, M.D., and Kyle Angelicola-Richardson, M.D., offers same-day appointments and performs surgeries at St. Peter’s and Samaritan Hospitals.
