St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates (SPHPMA) is thrilled to welcome experienced thoracic surgeon, Tracey Weigel, MD, to Albany Thoracic and Esophageal Surgery.
A practicing surgeon for more than 30 years, Dr. Weigel specializes in robotic and minimally invasive procedures. Her professional interests include robotic thoracic oncologic surgery and robotic complex foregut surgery.
Some of the conditions she treats surgically include:
- Early lung cancers
- Esophageal cancer
- Myasthenia gravis
- High-risk COPD
- Hiatal hernia
- Paraoesophageal hernia
- GERD
- Achalasia
Prior to joining SPHPMA, Dr. Weigel was chief of thoracic surgery at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York.
Dr. Weigel received her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in New York. She completed a residency in general surgery at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville.
Albany Thoracic and Esophageal Surgery, which has been serving the greater Albany and Troy communities for more than 20 years, has expanded. In addition to its main office in Albany, Albany Thoracic and Esophageal Surgery now has a full-time presence in Troy, located within the Troy Surgical Associates’ office.
