Happy National Nurse Practitioner Week!

There are more than 270,000 licensed Nurse Practitioners (NPs) across the United States. In celebration of National Nurse Practitioner Week 2019 (Nov. 10-16), St. Peter’s Health Partners would like to offer a sincere “Thank You!” to the many NPs in our system.

Every day, NPs provide high-quality, compassionate primary, acute, and specialty care across St. Peter’s Health Partners. NPs focus on health promotion, disease prevention, and health education and counseling. NPs guide patients to make smarter health and lifestyle choices. NPs assess patients, order and interpret diagnostic tests, make diagnoses, and treat acute and chronic conditions. They also initiate and manage treatment plans – including prescribing medications.

NPs have been providing health care to patients of all ages for more than 50 years. 99% of NPs have a graduate degree or higher, as well as advanced clinical training beyond their initial professional registered nurse preparation. They also undergo rigorous national certification.

National Nurse Practitioner Week is held annually to celebrate the profession and its role in health care delivery. Thank you, again, to all of the outstanding and talented NPs throughout our system for all that you do, every day!

270,000 NPs, health care you can trust. #NPWeek.
