NewsChannel 13: New St. Mary’s Cancer Treatment Center Opens

Peter Semenza, vice president of philanthropy for St. Peter’s Health Partners (SPHP), appeared on WTEN to discuss SPHP’s involvement in the Sock Out Cancer program. The program raises money to help cancer patients with a wide variety of needs.

On Sunday, September 15, the Capital Region will fight against pancreatic cancer at the annual Albany Capital District Walk for Pancreatic Cancer Research.

Kelly Hug, lead cytotechnologist at the Samaritan Hospital laboratory, was the co-author of a paper published in the June 2015 issue of the journal Anticancer Research. The paper, titled “Expression and Tissue Distribution of MicroRNA-21 in Malignant and Benign Breast Tissues,” included findings related to Hug’s master’s thesis research on breast cancer biomarkers.
