Spectrum News: Moldova Delegation Visits Samaritan Hospital

Lindsey Crusan-Muse, director of St. Peter’s Crime Victim Services, appeared on Spectrum News to discuss a visit from representatives of Moldova.

A delegation from the eastern European country toured Samaritan Hospital on Tuesday to learn more St. Peter’s Crime Victim Services and how the department supports victims of sexual violence. The Moldovan visitors are members of La Strada International, a European human rights agency. Their goal is to learn more about best practices in sexual violence response as they work to create their own coordinated systems of response to help victims back home. All of this is part of a larger effort in Moldova to move toward EU membership and is funded by a grant from the US State Department.

Since 19-79, St. Peter’s Crime Victim Services has worked to support and empower victims of crime through medical and legal assistance, emotional and behavioral support, advocacy, and community-based prevention efforts.
