The Center for Health Programs and Promotion at Seton Health/St. Peter’s Health Partners has received a $250,000 grant from the New York State Department of Health to work directly with school districts and food retailers in surrounding communities to improve access to nutritious foods as well as increase opportunities for daily physical activity. School districts and communities in Troy, Lansingburgh, Rensselaer, Schenectady and Hudson are included in the targeted areas. Poor nutrition and physical inactivity are major risk factors for chronic diseases like obesity that are plaguing New York State.
