A big congratulations to Eddy Village Green Cohoes, which has been named amongst “America’s Best Nursing Homes 2025” by Newsweek and ranked 8th best in the country for nursing homes with 150 beds or more!
The Eddy was the first to bring the innovative Green House model of nursing home care to New York state in 2008. Today, Eddy Village Green is the largest such program in the U.S., featuring 16 small ranch-style homes that house 12 elders each, like a family, versus the traditional institutional-style nursing homes. The campus is home to 192 elders.
This year’s list recognizes 1,050 nursing homes across the 25 states with the highest number of facilities, according to Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services data. The top nursing homes in each state were assessed and ranked based on four pillars: performance data, recommendations of medical professionals, accreditations and resident satisfaction.
