St. Peter’s Health Partners (SPHP) today announced the appointment of Tushar Somani, FACHE, as its new Senior Vice President of Acute Operations. Somani brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in acute care and health system operations, with a strong record of advancing quality, patient experience, and operational performance across large and complex organizations.

Most recently, Somani served as Chief Operating Officer at Kaleida Health’s Buffalo General Medical Center, where he led more than 1,300 colleagues and advanced major initiatives focused on quality, safety, patient experience, access, and efficiency. Prior to that, he served as Chief Operating Officer at Beth Israel Lahey Health Winchester Hospital in Massachusetts, overseeing strategic and operational improvements across clinical service lines, ambulatory care, and colleague engagement.

Somani is also well known within the Capital Region for his previous leadership role at St. Peter’s Health Partners. From 2017 to 2022, he served as Regional Vice President of Administrative Services, leading a team of more than 1,500 colleagues across critical operational departments including laboratory services, medical imaging, facilities, supply chain, construction and design, environmental services, food and nutrition, patient transport, couriers, security, and safety. During his tenure, he implemented strategies that improved colleague engagement, strengthened patient experience, delivered multimillion‑dollar financial savings, and advanced regional service integration across acute, long‑term care, and ambulatory settings.

In his new role as Senior Vice President of Acute Operations, Somani will oversee all hospital operations across St. Peter’s Health Partners, driving initiatives that enhance clinical service delivery, operational effectiveness, physician collaboration, and patient experience. He will play a pivotal role in advancing SPHP’s strategic goals and strengthening the organization’s mission to deliver compassionate, high‑quality care to the communities it serves.
