St. Peter’s Health Partners Named One of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Women

St. Peter’s Health Partners (SPHP), one of the Capital Region’s largest not-for-profit health care systems, has been recognized by Newsweek as one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Women in 2024. Companies named to the list ranked highest when evaluated on metrics including compensation, work-life balance, and commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Kim Baker, Senior VP, Hospital Operations

“At SPHP, equal opportunity is not just a catch phrase – it is a deep commitment to ensuring that all colleagues are given the same chances for success,” said Kim Baker, senior vice president of hospital operations for SPHP. “Our diverse workforce is supported by our leadership, the majority of whom are women, who understand the challenges that come from work and home. By embracing this culture, we are honoring the legacy and visionary work of our founders, including The Religious Sisters of Mercy and Daughters of Charity. These women broke barriers when they founded St. Peter’s Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital more than 150 years ago. This honor is a tribute to their work and to the dedication of our workforce today.”

The recognition from Newsweek and Plant-A-Insights Group, is based on an anonymous online survey of more than 142,000 women representing more than 848,000 companies in America.

“Despite advancements in workplace equality, women still encounter significant barriers in terms of leadership opportunities, fair compensation, and other forms of discrimination. Recognizing and addressing these challenges are crucial for progress,” said Newsweek Global Editor in Chief Nancy Cooper. “It is important to highlight companies that are leading the way in fostering a culture of equality and respect. To that end, Newsweek and Plant-A Insights are proud to introduce America’s Greatest Workplaces 2024 For Women.”

This recognition for SPHP is the second from Newsweek within the past year. Recently, Newsweek and Statista, Inc., named St. Peter’s Hospital, an affiliate of SPHP, as one of America’s Best Maternity Hospitals in 2023. Only 384 winners were recognized nationwide.
