In recognition of American Heart Month, Chris Rokkas, MD, cardiothoracic surgeon with Albany Cardiothoracic Surgeons and chief of cardiac surgery at St. Peter’s Hospital, appeared on WAMC Northeast Public Radio’s Medical Monday. He was joined by Tara Hutchings, PA, a physician assistant also specializing in cardiothoracic surgery at St. Peter’s.
The two discussed the latest surgical techniques for a range of cardiovascular conditions, including bypass and aortic aneurysm repair. They also discussed Marfans Syndrome, which is a rare genetic disease and cause of some thoracic and abdominal aneurysms.
