Carrie Hogan Named an Empire Whole Health Hero

Empire BlueCross, in partnership with the Albany Business Review, has named Carrie Hogan, MS, ANP-C, director of health services for Siena College, an Empire Whole Health Hero. Hogan was nominated by a member of the community for her leadership, compassion and communication, which have helped the college and its students navigate the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hogan serves as practice manager for Siena College’s student health services clinic, which is operated by St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates. She has coordinated Siena’s response to COVID-19 from before the beginning of the semester, working closely with partners at St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany County, and the New York State Department of Health. This coordination helped her educate the administration and faculty on ever-changing COVID policy and responses; pivot care to the telehealth platform; administer 3452 COVID tests; and establish a robust contact tracing program that allowed the college to avoid any extensive cluster of positive cases.

Thanks to Hogan’s management, Siena completed the semester without having to pause or move to totally remove instruction. Most recently, Hogan helped coordinate a pop-up vaccine clinic at Siena in which 500 students were vaccinated against COVID-19.

On behalf of everyone at St. Peter’s Health Partners and St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates, we would like to thank Carrie Hogan for all of her hard work and dedication to her patients and congratulate her on being named an Empire Whole Health Hero. Great work!
