Times Union: New St. Mary’s Cancer Treatment Center Opens

Anne Lawton, RN, community outreach nurse for St. Peter’s Cancer Care Center, appeared on WNYT’s Health Beat with Benita Zahn to discuss HPV-related cancers and preventative efforts, including the HPV vaccine.

St. Peter’s Health Partners, in collaboration with the Cancer Services Program of Albany and Rensselaer Counties, Price Chopper, CDTA and the Central Business Improvement District, are teaming up on the “Main Streets Go Blue” campaign to raise awareness of colorectal cancer and provide screenings. Duncan Savage, M.D., chief of radiation oncology at St. Peter’s Hospital, appeared on WAMC’s Medical Monday where he discussed targeted cancer treatments, HPV-related cancers in both men and women, and how radiation works to kill cancer cells.
