Times Union: New St. Mary’s Cancer Treatment Center Opens

On Friday, June 1, St. Peter’s Hospital Cancer Care Center and St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates welcomed their survivors the 2018 Cancer Survivor’s Day Ice Cream Social. Cancer survivors and their guests are invited to enjoy an evening of refreshments, music, ice cream, and fun!

Kelly Hug, lead cytotechnologist at the Samaritan Hospital laboratory, was the co-author of a paper published in the June 2015 issue of the journal Anticancer Research. The paper, titled “Expression and Tissue Distribution of MicroRNA-21 in Malignant and Benign Breast Tissues,” included findings related to Hug’s master’s thesis research on breast cancer biomarkers.

St. Peter’s Health Partners, in collaboration with the Cancer Services Program of Albany and Rensselaer Counties, Price Chopper, CDTA and the Central Business Improvement District, are teaming up on the “Main Streets Go Blue” campaign to raise awareness of colorectal cancer and provide screenings.
