Times Union: New St. Mary’s Cancer Treatment Center Opens

 Eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine expanded to those with cancer in New York state on February 14. Ajaz Khan, M.D., medical director of medical oncology for SPHP, spoke to WTEN/News10 about why timing is so important when it comes to vaccinating cancer patients.

St. Peter’s Health Partners, in collaboration with the Cancer Services Program of Albany and Rensselaer Counties, Price Chopper, CDTA and the Central Business Improvement District, are teaming up on the “Main Streets Go Blue” campaign to raise awareness of colorectal cancer and provide screenings. People at highest risk for skin cancer include those with red or blonde hair, fair skin, blue or green eyes, pale complexion, and/or a family history of skin cancer, especially melanoma. But everyone should think about sun safety — remember to slip, slap, slop this summer!
