WNYT: Free Cancer Screening Offered for Firefighters

WNYT aired a story on a free cancer screening for firefighters, held December 10 at Capital Region Urology, a practice of St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates.

Providers screened 60 firefighters for a number of cancers including: bladder, kidney, prostate, and thyroid. Cancer is a leading cause of death among firefighters, largely because of the chemicals they are routinely exposed to while on the job.
