WTEN: Breast Cancer Risk Assessment

Actress Olivia Munn recently revealed she’d been diagnosed with luminal B breast cancer –a fast-moving, aggressive cancer–in both breasts. Her diagnosis came as a shock as her annual mammogram three months prior had come back clear. It was thanks to Munn’s OB/GYN, who suggested she take a breast cancer risk assessment, that the cancer was ultimately discovered.

Brooke Lamparello, M.D., of St. Peter’s OB/GYN, sat down with WTEN’s Christina Arangio to explain how the risk assessment works and why it’s such a valuable tool when it comes to breast cancer detection.
