In recognition of National Breastfeeding Month, Stephanie Avienu, lactation specialist with St. Peter’s Health Partners (SPHP), discussed the benefits of breastfeeding during an interview on WTEN/News10.
In addition to reviewing the many health benefits for both mom and baby, Avienu also discussed local resources for pregnant and breastfeeding families, including Capital Region Baby Cafes. The cafes, supported by SPHP, offer free lactation support from specially-trained staff as well as other nursing moms and parents.
