WTEN: Push for More COVID-19 Vaccine Doses to be Administered by Community-Based Doctors

WTEN/News10 interviewed William Kowal, M.D., chief medical officer for St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates and physician with St. Peter’s Internal and Family Medicine, about efforts to administer COVID-19 vaccines in community-based medical offices.

Dr. William Kowal wants to protect all his patients from the coronavirus, but as far as offering doses of the vaccine in his office right now, that’s not possible.

Kowal’s practice is in the St. Peter’s health system, and so far, just three doctor’s offices within that system were recently able to deliver 100 doses to some very grateful patients in Saratoga County.

But there’s a push to make more shots available to patients of community-based physicians, like Kowal.
