WTEN recently reported that Russell Sage has received approval to open a speech pathology program, replacing the one offered by the now-closed College of Saint Rose.
As part of the story, they interviewed Kristin Seaburg, executive director of patient therapies at St. Peter’s Health Partners, about the increasing need for speech therapy in the Capital Region and nationwide.
From the story:
The College of Saint Rose was one of the largest providers of speech language pathologists in the Capital Region, according to Kristin Seaburg, the executive director of therapy for St. Peters Health Partners. Saint Rose was also one of the only colleges in the capital region that offered a speech language pathology program. Without both of these elements, plus a pre-existing nationwide speech pathology shortage, parents have been raising concerns.
