Spectrum News Ch. 9: New Device That Could Help Save Heart Attack Victims

A new $7.5 million grant from New York State will enable The Eddy to expand the community programming it offers to assist and comfort Capital Region residents who are caring for a loved one suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.

The Terrace at Beverwyck’s Community Service Group receives a generous donation of yarns from Darn Good Yarn of Schenectady and founder, Nicole Snow. Members of the group will use the yarn to make hats, scarves, and lap blankets to donate to area hospitals and community organizations in need.

The Albany Business Review interviewed Karen Meemken, elder care consultant for the CHOICES Geriatric Care Management Program at St. Peter’s Health Partners, about the issues facing older adults and their adult children as they discuss assisted living and end-of-life care. See the full story here.
