Dr. Barbara Brazis Joins St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates

Barbara Brazis, DO, FACS

St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates is thrilled to welcome Barbara Brazis, DO, FACS, to St. Peter’s General Surgery.

An esteemed surgeon with more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Brazis specializes in general, robotic, breast, and laparoscopic surgery. She currently serves as chief of General Surgery and chief of Robotic Surgery at St. Peter’s Hospital.

Dr. Brazis previously worked in private practice in the Capital Region and has been performing surgery at St. Peter’s Hospital since 1997. During that time, she has helped grow the system’s minimally invasive surgery program, which recently surpassed the milestone of 20,000 robotic surgeries – placing it in the top 1% nationwide for robotic surgical volume.

Dr. Brazis received her medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine, and her bachelor’s degree from Western Maryland College in Westminster, Maryland. She completed an internship at the Brighton Medical Center in Portland, Maine, and completed a residency at Albany Medical Center.

Her professional interests include all areas of general surgery, with a special focus on laparoscopic robotic surgery and all aspects of breast surgery.
