Colleagues across St. Peter’s Health Partners wore red on February 3 to support National Wear Red Day! The effort was in support of the American Heart Association (AHA) Go Red For Women initiative, which aims to raise awareness about heart health for women.
Heart disease and stroke cause 1 in 3 deaths among women each year, killing approximately one woman every 80 seconds, according to the AHA. Fortunately, 80 percent of cardiac and stroke events may be prevented with education and action. Wear Red Day is a way to help inspire women to speak with their physicians, learn about the risks, and take action.
As the Capital Region’s no. 1 choice for cardiac and vascular care, St. Peter’s Health Partners was proud to Wear Red and show our support for women’s health, and raise awareness about heart disease and stroke.
