Five Capital Region residents have been selected as medalists for the Jefferson Awards, which honor public service in communities across the country.
They were selected from the 10 local finalists and one Kid Who Cares, all of whom have volunteered to improve the lives of others. They will be honored Tuesday at Century House Restaurant at a reception sponsored by St. Peter’s Health Partners, NewsChannel 13 and the Times Union.
The Jefferson Awards were inaugurated in 1972 and named for Thomas Jefferson.
