Alan Sanders, M.D., chief medical officer for St. Peter’s Health Partners Acute Care, appeared in WNYT’s report on the next likely wave of COVID-19 infections in the Capital Region. Dr. Sanders and other local hospital leaders briefed the media and community on the state of the virus fight during a news conference held on Oct. 28, 2020.

St. Peter’s Health Partners, WNYT-NewsChannel 13 and the Times Union have once again teamed up to “uncover” and honor youth in the Capital Region whose volunteer work touches the lives of our residents and improves the quality of life in this area.

The Times Union published a new story as part of its continuing coverage on the growing opioid epidemic in the Capital Region. Dr. Melissa Weimer, Chief of Behavioral Health and Addiction Medicine at St. Peter’s Hospital, was interviewed as part of the story: The newest medical approach may be at St. Peter’s Health Partners, where drug users addicted to heroin, fentanyl and other opioids can now walk into outpatient locations in Albany, Troy and Cohoes or emergency departments at Samaritan, Albany Memorial and St. Peter’s hospitals and promptly be evaluated to get buprenorphine to help them through withdrawal, or more intense detox services if needed.
