WRGB: Capital Region Hospital Bed Capacity Remains Adequate Amid the Coronavirus Pandemic

WRGB/CBS6 News interviewed Steven Hanks, M.D., about COVID-19 hospitalizations in the Capital Region. Dr. Hanks discussed how hospitals are responding to the high levels of inpatient volume.

From the story:

Steven Hanks, Chief Clinical Officer at St. Peter’s Health Partners, says getting further away from the holiday season is helping the case numbers to go down and that coordination among different hospitals around the region has been key.

We feel like we’re in pretty good shape from a hospital capacity standpoint. All of us, obviously, have curtailed elective procedures. We did that a few weeks back and we saw the storm clouds on the horizon. That was a good move because we were all able to re-deploy our staff to support the increase in the number of COVID patients,” replied Hanks.
