Albany Cardiothoracic Surgeons Joins St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates

St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates (SPHPMA) is pleased to announce that Albany Cardiothoracic Surgeons (ACTS) has joined the medical group effective July 1, 2022.

ACTS is the Capital Region’s oldest heart surgery practice dedicated to cardiothoracic surgery. Founded in 1955, ACTS has a long tradition of working as a coordinated team to provide expert, high quality, compassionate cardiothoracic surgical care. ACTS has been the exclusive provider of cardiac surgery at St. Peter’s Hospital (SPH).

The cardiothoracic team performs both minimally invasive surgeries and the most complex and difficult surgeries using the latest and most advanced techniques, with surgical results surpassing both state and national standards.

“The addition of Albany Cardiothoracic Surgeons to our medical group is an exciting development. Together we are sharing our depth of knowledge and expertise to strengthen heart care throughout the Capital Region,” said Kellie Valenti, president of SPHPMA. “This partnership will serve to bolster our cardiac program at SPH, which is consistently ranked among the top 10 percent of America’s heart surgery hospitals by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.”

“ACTS has long served patients that would travel from throughout the tri-state area for the exceptional care they provide,” Valenti noted. “We are truly honored to have them join our physician group as they look to continue to provide world-class care for decades to come.”

Physicians practicing at ACTS include Sulaiman Hasan, MD; Stephanie Helmer, MD; and Soon Park, MD. Among the services offered are arrhythmia surgery; minimally invasive surgery; cardiac surgery; cardiothoracic surgery; vascular surgery; pacemakers; and laser lead extraction.

The practice is located at 319 S. Manning Blvd., Suite 110a in Albany, on the St. Peter’s Hospital campus. They can be contacted at 518-525-2525. To learn more, visit https://www.sphp.com/location/albany-cardiothoracic-surgeons-pc
