Construction Begins on New Parking Garage at Samaritan Hospital

The City of Troy issued the following traffic advisory related to the upcoming construction of the new Samaritan Hospital parking garage:

On Monday, March 23, 2015, oversized vehicle traffic will commence in the vicinity of Samaritan Hospital in the City of Troy.  The oversized vehicle traffic will be part of the on-going construction project at Samaritan Hospital; in particular, the new parking structure.

Vehicles hauling oversized loads will be delivering the crane and rigging to the site beginning March 23rd.  Following this activity, oversized vehicle traffic will begin delivery of the precast concrete framing for the parking structure.  This activity will take place throughout the day Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.  It is anticipated that this activity duration will extend from March 30th through May 22nd.

During this activity, we anticipate periodic traffic delays between River Street and the Brunswick town line, in both the east-bound and west-bound directions of Hoosick Street.  An alternative route of travel is advised.  Additionally, parking will be restricted along portions of Burdett Avenue, 17th Street and Eagle Street in Troy.

The City of Troy thanks you for your understanding and cooperation during this time.
