Jeanine Gillmeister, MSN, BSN, RN, CCRN, has been appointed director of emergency services for Acute Care at St. Peter’s Health Partners. In this role, Gillmeister will oversee the emergency departments at St. Peter’s Hospital, Samaritan Hospital, and Albany Memorial Hospital. She will also have responsibility for the short-stay units at St. Peter’s and Samaritan hospitals.
Gillmeister has a strong foundation in leadership roles. A health care professional with more than 14 years of nursing and supervisory experience, Gillmeister first joined St. Peter’s Health Partners in September 2018, as director of the emergency department, ICU, and nursing supervisors at Albany Memorial Hospital. Prior to that, she served in various supervisory roles in hospitals across the United States, from Virginia to Alaska.
Her leadership experience includes serving as director of emergency services for Gateway Regional Medical Center (GRMC) in Illinois, which averages 35,000 patient visits per year. While there, Gillmeister worked with emergency department physicians and staff to reduce the emergency department’s “door to doc” time, and significantly improve patient experience scores. She also held leadership positions in intensive care, telemetry, and home health.
Gillmeister earned her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis and her master’s in nursing leadership from Western Governors University in Utah.
