Nine SPHP Nurses Honored for Excellence at 2024 “Salute to Nurses”

Nine St. Peter’s Health Partners (SPHP) nurses have been honored for nursing excellence at the 10th annual Times Union Salute to Nurses.

Presented by SPHP, the 2024 Times Union Salute to Nurses honors the profession of nursing and the outstanding women and men who represent the field throughout the Capital Region. Twenty-five local nurses – 10 winners and 15 finalists – were honored this year, all of whom were nominated by family, friends, coworkers, and others whose lives they have impacted with their work.

They were all celebrated at a virtual event on May 10, which can be viewed HERE. The nurses were also recognized with a special insert in the print edition of the Times Union on Sunday, May 12, which can be viewed HERE.

Two SPHP nurses were named a “2024 Nurse of the Year”:

  • Angela Compton
    Outpatient Cardiology/Registered Nurse Clinical Lead
  • Molly Oliver
    Palliative Care

Additionally, seven SPHP nurses were honored as “Nurse of the Year” finalists:

  • Maria Abbott-Rootes, Medical Oncology and Infusion
  • Joyce Crawford, The Community Hospice
  • Anna Van Eisden, Samaritan Hospital/ICU
  • Jennifer Garhartt, Talent Acquisition/Human Resources
  • Amanda Greenwood, Women’s and Children’s Services
  • Shatauna McCray, Diabetes and Endocrine Care
  • Jessica Mosbey, Samaritan Hospital/ICU
