SPHP and WellNow Urgent Care Open New Center in Gloversville

On March 31, 2021, St. Peter’s Health Partners and WellNow Urgent Care, opened the doors to their newest center in the Capital Region. Located at 332 South Kingsboro Avenue Extension in Gloversville, the new facility offers COVID-19 testing, as well as timely treatment for non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses, seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with no appointment needed.

“We’re thrilled to welcome patients to our Gloversville center,” said John Radford, M.D., President at WellNow Urgent Care. “We’re pleased to provide timely and convenient urgent care services and COVID-19 testing, particularly as the weather improves and many people start to resume seasonal activities and travel.”

Urgent care centers are an increasingly important part of the U.S. healthcare marketplace, providing patients with much-needed access to quality care with shorter wait times and same day care options for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries. Urgent care services are provided on a walk-in basis, or patients may visit WellNow.com to check in online and view up-to-date wait times. Patients can also connect with a WellNow provider 24 hours a day, seven days a week, using the company’s telehealth platform.

The new center in Gloversville will provide timely service for ailments such as sprains, burns, colds and allergies while also providing on-site X-rays, lab testing and physicals. Rapid COVID-19 testing is also available with no appointment necessary; patients can walk in or schedule a visit online.

The opening of the Gloversville center marks WellNow’s eleventh location in the Capital Region through its joint venture with St. Peter’s Health Partners. Other nearby centers include Albany, Clifton Park, Glens Falls, Hudson, Latham, Niskayuna, Rensselaer, Rotterdam, Saratoga Springs and Troy. “Urgent care centers like WellNow are growing across the country because they provide members of the community — and visitors to the area who do not have a regular primary care provider — a low cost, appropriate treatment setting that is readily available when they need care,” said James K. Reed, M.D., President and CEO of St. Peter’s Health Partners. “Coordinated care is essential for the community’s long-term well-being, which is why WellNow will be working to create relationships with primary care physicians in the Gloversville area.”

WellNow accepts most insurance, including Medicare, Medicaid, Fidelis and Veterans Affairs TriWest. A full list of services can be found online at WellNow.com/services and additional information about COVID-19, including testing cost and insurance coverage, can be found at wellnow.com/covid-19/.

WellNow Urgent Care also offers Capital Region employers a wide range of occupational medicine services, including DOT/19A physicals, Workers’ Compensation assistance, respirator fit exams, audiometry and more.
