St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates Welcomes Ellis Medicine Urology

St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates (SPHPMA) and the Ellis Medical Group (EMG) are pleased to announce the opening of a new urology practice, Ellis Medicine Urology, in the medical arts building on the Nott Street Campus, Suite 203, in Schenectady.

“The formation of this new practice furthers the collaborative vision shared by SPHPMA and Ellis for a more fully integrated, region-wide approach to care,” said Kellie Valenti, executive vice president of SPHPMA. “We are excited about this opportunity to continue combining our medical expertise and resources to expand care for patients in our area.”

Robert Gerstenbluth, M.D.

Ellis Medicine Urology is led by highly regarded urologist Robert Gerstenbluth, M.D. Dr. Gerstenbluth has practiced urology in the Albany and Schenectady area for the last 18 years, previously working at Albany Medical Center, and Ellis Hospital. He is board-certified in urology by the American Board of Urology. He received his medical degree from SUNY Buffalo and completed a urology residency at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr. Gerstenbluth is joined in practice by David Lazzaro, FNP-BC. Mr. Lazzaro is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. He previously worked as a critical care nurse and nursing supervisor at Samaritan Hospital. He received his master’s degree from Russell Sage College in Troy, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Le Moyne College in Syracuse.

“We look forward to growing the Ellis Medicine Urology practice and this expansion of urology services in the Schenectady region,” said Dr. Gerstenbluth. “We are confident patients will benefit from our expert, compassionate care and counsel, ensuring they can work, play, and live their lives to the fullest.”

Dr. Gerstenbluth and Mr. Lazzaro treat patients for a variety of urologic diseases and conditions including benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH); kidney stone disease; prostate cancer; bladder cancer; female stress incontinence and other voiding dysfunctions in women; and men’s health issues including erectile/sexual dysfunction, low testosterone, and Peyronie’s disease.
