On February 26, Tobacco Free Communities | Delaware, Otsego & Schoharie (TFC-DOS) cut the ribbon on its new office in Oneonta. Both TFC-DOS and Capital District Tobacco-Free Communities are grant- supported programs of St. Peter’s Health Partners, funded by the New York State Department of Health, Bureau of Tobacco Control.
Both programs work to prevent youth initiation to smoking and to improve the lives of those affected by tobacco use. Efforts are evidence-based, policy-driven, and cost-effective approaches that decrease youth tobacco use, motivate adult smokers to quit, and eliminate exposure to second smoke.
Tobacco Free Communities | Delaware, Otsego & Schoharie will work to lower tobacco-use rates in all three counties, with coordinated help from policy makers and health care partners. It is located at 155 Main Street, Suite C, in Oneonta.
