Cardiology Associates of Schenectady Joins St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates
St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates (SPHPMA) is pleased to announce that Cardiology Associates of Schenectady (CAS), has joined its medical group effective January 1, 2021.
Since its founding in 1990, CAS has been on the cutting edge of cardiovascular care for residents of Schenectady, Montgomery, Fulton, and southern Saratoga counties. Composed of 25 cardiologists and 10 physician assistants, CAS currently offers a full range of cardiovascular testing, diagnostic, and treatment services.
As part of the SPHPMA team, CAS will expand its ability to provide greater access to cardiac care in the community, with the launch of a walk-in, same-day heart clinic at its location at 2546 Balltown Road, Suite 300, in Schenectady.
The clinic is open to both existing patients of the practice and new patients. Individuals with non-life-threatening cardiac symptoms – including chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath or rapid heart rate – can be seen the same day, similar to an urgent care setting. Patients will be evaluated and have direct access to state-of-the-art diagnostic testing, including echocardiogram, EKG, and stress testing. Board-certified cardiologists will then work with referring physicians to develop a plan for treatment that is suited to meet the patient’s individual needs.
The Balltown Road clinic is open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The clinic can be reached at 518-377-8184.

The addition of CAS complements SPHPMA’s cardiovascular physician practice presence by adding locations in Schenectady, Fulton and Montgomery counties. This new addition will expand to 11 the number of SPHPMA cardiology offices.
Current patients of CAS still have the option to continue to receive care at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam, and Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville. This type of care is in full alignment with CAS’ long-standing involvement and leadership in community-based population health management efforts, in association with the work of the Innovative Health Alliance of New York, LLC (IHANY) and the Alliance for Better Health. Both organizations work with networks of providers to redesign care delivery aimed at better health at a lower cost.
