Sisters of St. Joseph and Eddy SeniorCare Team Up to Provide Services to Area Seniors

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet have announced a collaborative agreement with Eddy SeniorCare, part of St. Peter’s Health Partners (SPHP), that will enable the sisters to continue to receive health care at St. Joseph’s Provincial House, while allowing SPHP to bring new health care services to seniors in Albany and Rensselaer counties. As part of its long-term strategic plan, the sisters were looking for a financially sustainable path forward to care for aging members of their order who live at the St. Joseph’s Provincial House in Latham. The congregation approached Eddy SeniorCare, and the organizations reached an agreement where Eddy SeniorCare will be responsible for providing care for the sisters (who will remain at the Provincial House), and create a PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) program at the site for area seniors. Eddy SeniorCare operates a PACE center in Schenectady, and plans to offer the same services in space that will be renovated at the Province’s building on Watervliet-Shaker Road. Spotlight News: Music Fans Will Witness Gregory Nash’s Return From a Devastating Stroke on Saturday

Spotlight News published an article on local musician, Gregory Nash. At 44, Nash thought he was too young to have a stroke, but he was wrong. Despite being told he would never be able to speak again, Nash persisted. Thanks to his relentless hard work and the dedication of physicians and therapists at Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital, his speech is slowly returning. More importantly to Nash, he has regained his ability to play the drums. And now, Nash wants to pay it forward and help those who have helped restore his passion. Nash will perform in a benefit concert at 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, at The Hollow in Albany. The night is billed as “One Stroke Roll – Benefit for Sunnyview Stroke Victims, Celebrating Gregory Nash’s One Year Strokeversary!”  Proceeds will go to help stroke victims receiving treatment at Sunnyview.
