Brian Steckel, M.D.
Brian F. Steckel, M.D., of Capital District Colon & Rectal Surgery Associates, has joined St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates.
A board-certified and fellowship-trained surgeon, Dr. Steckel practices colon and rectal surgery. Dr. Steckel specializes in both open and minimally invasive surgical management of a vast range of colon and rectal conditions including constipation, hemorrhoids, diverticulitis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, polyps, colon cancer, rectal cancer, and many others.
Dr. Steckel earned his bachelor’s degree from Boston College in Boston, Massachusetts. He received his master’s degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and his medical degree from National University of Ireland in Galway, Ireland. He completed a surgical residency at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts, and a research fellowship at New England Medical Center in Boston. He completed his Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City and is a member of the American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons.
