The Albany Business Review published a story on the planned expansion of The Glen at Hiland Meadows in Queensbury, part of Eddy Senior Living, a division of St. Peter’s Health Partners’ Continuing Care.
The $24 million project would add 28 independent living apartments, a new memory care facility, and a wellness center with a pool to the existing senior living community.
Andrea Hebert, vice president for Eddy Senior Living and The Glen’s executive director, was interviewed for the article and explained the growing demand for more independent living units and memory care.
From the article:
“We see that every day,” said Hebert, who is also vice president for Eddy Senior Living. “Folks, because they’re living longer, I think there’s more frequency that we see dementia and Alzheimer’s unfortunately.”
Hebert said there’s more demand for memory care in the Queensbury area than what’s currently available. If people in town need that care, they often have to move away, making it hard to stay connected with their families.
The Glen at Hiland Meadows has an offer from M&T Bank to finance the expansion.
