WNYT: New Patient Pavilion Opens at Samaritan Hospital in Troy

St. Peter’s Health Partners (SPHP) on May 15 held a dedication and open house to celebrate the new Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Samaritan Hospital. The new unit opened to patients on May 22.

The Times Union published an article on the final touches being made to the new entrance of Samaritan Hospital ahead of the September 20 celebration of the project’s completion. From the article: Workers were removing construction materials, laying fresh sod and pouring concrete for new sidewalks Wednesday as they put finishing touches on Samaritan Hospital’s expansion plan. The largest piece of the project was a new five-story patient pavilion, named in honor of the late Heinrich Medicus, a retired Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute professor whose $10 million contribution helped drive a successful community fundraising campaign.
