Upstate Infectious Diseases Associates Joins St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates

St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates (SPHPMA) is pleased to announce that Upstate Infectious Diseases Associates has joined its medical group effective April 1, 2021.

Since its founding in 1996, Upstate Infectious Diseases Associates has been on the cutting edge of the diagnosis, treatment, management and care of infectious disease for residents of the Capital Region. Upstate Infectious Diseases Associates, supporting SPHPMA’s primary care providers, will provide consultations for matters relating to general infectious diseases, vector-borne illnesses, mycobacterial infections, HIV, post-operative and chronic wound infections, as well as travel-related illnesses.

“We are excited that Upstate Infectious Diseases Associates has joined the St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates team,” said Kellie Valenti, president of SPHPMA. “The on-going battle against COVID-19 highlights the critical role that infectious disease management and care plays in ensuring the overall health and well-being of the community. At a time when the need to ensure good health has never been more important, Upstate Infectious Diseases Associates’ expertise and insight makes them an excellent partner in our mission to provide world-class care.”

Infectious and communicable diseases occur in people of all ages. While many infections can be treated by primary care providers, some infections can be complicated matters that threaten health and quality of life of those afflicted. Infectious disease specialists assist in the management of complex infections, and in situations where diagnoses and treatment are challenging, whether in a medical office setting, hospitals, or long-term care facilities.

Upstate Infectious Diseases Associates is composed of physicians Neha Khullar, DO; Anita Kiehl, MD; Philip Palmieri, MD; and Kristina Roddy, MD. The practice is located at 404 New Scotland Avenue in Albany, and they can be contacted at 518-435-0662.
