The Times Union published a story about the upcoming event celebrating the completion of Samaritan Hospital’s expansion. That event is now set for September 20th. From the story: The patient tower, a new emergency department and a multi-level parking garage are part of the $99 million Troy Master Facilities Plan that also includes improvements to convert St. Mary’s Hospital into an outpatient facility. Both are part of St. Peter’s Health Partners. The two-level pedestrian bridge will connect the 1969-era patient tower designed by Chicago-based Perkins + Will with the new Heinrich Medicus patient pavilion, designed by Charlotte-based FreemanWhite, which is also nearing completion. On Monday, December 4, St. Peter’s Health Partners hosted a Staff and Physician Open House and Ribbon Cutting, and a Public Open House of the the new Samaritan Hospital Emergency Department, opening on December 7. SPHP Staff, physicians, and supporters were able to tour the new 32,000 square feet facility, four times larger than the hospital’s previous emergency department, enjoy refreshments, and meet some of the department staff.
