Free Educational Seminar – “Veins: You Don’t Have to Live in Pain”

St. Peter’s Health Partner’s Cardiac and Vascular service will host a free seminar titled: “Veins: You Don’t Have to Live in Pain”  This free seminar is intended for patients, family members and significant others living with the risk of vascular and stroke disease. The seminar will take place: Tuesday, March 19, 2019 6 to 7:30 pm Hilton Garden Inn, Sage Rooms 235 Hoosick Street, Troy  The distinguished speakers will be Kathleen Ozsvath, M.D., and John Taggert, M.D., both vascular surgeons with St. Peter’s Vascular Associates. Dr. Ozsvath and Dr. Taggert will provide information on: • Superficial venous disease – diagnosis and treatment • Deep venous disease – diagnosis and treatment • Wound care for patients Light refreshments will be served. St. Peter’s Health Partners will offer a free educational seminar: Advancements in Interventional Cardiology. The distinguished speaker is Gregory Bishop, MD, FACC, FASCAI, an Interventional Cardiologist with Albany Associates in Cardiology, a practice of St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates. Dr. Bishop will discuss: New minimally invasive cardiac therapies – Who can they help? Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement – Expanding role of TAVR MitraClip® procedure – Mitral valve repair for patients who may not be candidates for surgery WATCHMAN™ procedure – Replacing the use of oral anticoagulants for stroke prevention in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation The program will take place: Tuesday, February 19 6 to 7:30 pm Mercy Auditorium (Across the street from the hospital) St. Peter’s Hospital Campus 310 S. St. Peter’s Health Partners will hold a free educational seminar titled “Atrial Fibrillation: What You Need to Know.” Free and open to the public, this seminar will take place: Tuesday, September 18, 2018 6 to 7:30 pm Hilton Garden Inn, Sage Rooms 235 Hoosick Street, Troy The distinguished speaker will be: Alfonso Prieto, MD, an electrophysiology specialist from Albany Associates in Cardiology, a practice of St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates. Dr. Prieto will discuss strategies that can be used to manage atrial fibrillation including: ablation for atrial fibrillation, things you can do to help prevent stroke, and new technologies.
