WTEN: Local Groups Help Sock Out Cancer

Peter Semenza, vice president of philanthropy for St. Peter’s Health Partners (SPHP), appeared on WTEN to discuss SPHP’s involvement in the Sock Out Cancer program.

Colorful socks symbolizing different forms of cancer and the fight against them, were sold at two local college basketball games during the month of February. In all, more than $107,000 was raised, of which more than $53,000 will go to the St. Peter’s Hospital Foundation to help support cancer patients.

From the story:

“It’s basic things like food cards, gift cards, transportation gift cards with Uber,” VP of Philanthropy at St. Peter’s Health Partners Peter Semenza said. “Nutritional supplements after a chemo therapy treatment, utility bills that need to be paid while they are struggling with their cancer journey.”
