The annual list features hospital and health system presidents and CEOs who also hold medical degrees. Leaders named to the list were chosen by Becker’s Hospital Review editorial staff.

Since joining SPHP in 2012, Dr. Errichetti has led the successful implementation of many new initiatives, programs, and improvements at St. Peter’s Hospital (a 457-bed acute care tertiary hospital) and Albany Memorial Hospital (157-bed acute care community hospital).

These efforts include the creation of the system-wide SPHP Cardiac and Vascular Services service line, the establishment of the St. Peter’s Hospital Joint Replacement Center with a large private orthopedic group, and the development of a new service line approach at St. Peter’s Hospital for Advanced Endoscopy and Hepatobiliary Surgery in partnership with a private gastroenterology group and employed surgeons. All three initiatives have led to a significant increase in the number of patients treated at St. Peter’s Hospital.

Under the leadership of Dr. Errichetti, St. Peter’s Hospital has been honored with multiple awards and accolades, including being granted recognition in 2015 as a Magnet-designated organization for the third consecutive time. Also in 2015, U.S. News and World Report ranked St. Peter’s Hospital No. 7 among all hospitals in New York state, with a rating of “high performing” in five adult specialties – gastroenterology and GI surgery, orthopedics, geriatrics, nephrology, and pulmonology – and a rating of “high performing” in four common adult procedures and conditions – heart bypass surgery, heart failure, hip replacement, and knee replacement.

Additionally in 2015, St. Peter’s Hospital and Samaritan Hospital received national Chest Pain Center Accreditation with PCI, and Albany Memorial Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital received national Chest Pain Center Accreditation. Also in 2015, St. Peter’s Hospital for the first time received the Women’s Choice Award as one of “America’s Best Hospitals for Cardiac Care and Vascular Care” and “America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics.”

Other honors bestowed upon St. Peter’s Hospital under Dr. Errichetti’s leadership include a “three-star” designation from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons in 2015 for two open heart surgery procedures, recognition in 2014 as a NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders) Designated Hospital, and in 2014 receiving the Beacon Award for Excellence in Intensive Care Unit Care.

Prior to joining SPHP, Dr. Errichetti served as president of Advocate Condell Medical Center (290-bed acute care tertiary hospital) in Libertyville, Illinois. Before that role she served as president of Advocate South Suburban Hospital (294-bed community hospital in Hazel Crest, Illinois) and chief academic officer for Advocate Health Care. Dr. Errichetti also held the appointment of Associate Dean at Rosalind Franklin University’s Chicago Medical School.

Dr. Errichetti received a bachelor’s degree from Fordham University in New York, an M.D. from Harvard Medical School, and an MBA from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts. A board-certified cardiologist, Dr. Errichetti completed an internal medicine residency and a clinical fellowship in cardiology at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, and a clinical research fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Errichetti is a Fellow in the American College of Cardiology and a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. She serves on the Board of the Albany Symphony Orchestra and the American Heart Association of the Capital District.
